I have dedicated my 31-year legal career to public safety for victims of crime and equal justice for the accused. I have worked on both sides of the bar, as a defense attorney and prosecutor. As a defense attorney for 22 years, I represented over 1,000 people, tried over 150 cases in state and federal courts (including 2 death penalty cases), authored over 50 appeals. I am Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. I won the Winning Women Award and voted Lawyer of the year, Super Lawyer, and Unsung Hero by my colleagues for my many victories as a criminal defense attorney. I have mentored many attorneys and sacrificed my time representing the accused pro bono or for little or no money because I believed in their innocence. I have volunteered my time to speak to community groups about the criminal justice system. And, in 2011, I created a local tv show to educate people about the criminal justice system – Truth & Justice with Vivian King. See www.Youtube.com/User/VivianKingtv – where the formerly incarcerated tell their stories of crime, incarceration and redemption. In 2016, I also starred as the Matriarch on WEtv’s reality show Sisters In Law, now playing on ROKU & Appletv.
